I am now a member of Ten Women Gallery in Venice, CA on Abbott Kinney Blvd. There are actually 24 artists that are part of the co-op gallery. Two people have given notice that they are leaving in April/May. Applications to join the gallery can be downloaded in the events section of the website at www.tenwomengallery.com

My work can now be seen at The Ten Women Gallery, on Abbott Kinney Blvd, Venice CA. This coming Saturday they will be having an opening party for me and two other artists from 2 to 6pm. Ten Women gallery is an artists co-op. I will be there on Saturday afternoons.

I just finished this Spaceboy mixed media picture. It is for a project for my scbwi schmooze group where everyone picked from three random selections. Mine were desert, spacecraft and farm animal.

I have to admit to having a weakness for my Birdman. He looks like a South American adventurer. He could appear at any moment in Peru or Guatemala, or The Brazilian rain forest.

I am really enjoying making all the miniature, multicultural dolls for my etsy shop. These are my favourite of the blanket babies. I like the fact that they all have different expressions. I have made so many now that I will have to open a new shop just for dolls.

Desert Dog

Desert Dog combines linoblock prints on linen with hand embroidery. This is the first time I have tried using the two elements together. I think it works well. I have been wanting to experiment using negative space in my needlework ever since I visited the extreme embroidery exhibit at the Museum of Design in New York, last February.

AntheaArt Projects

AntheaArt is the place to see my latest art work and craft projects. I am posting my new linoleum block prints that I've been making on my antique french printing press. These original block prints on linen are for sale at www.etsy.com in my AntheaArt shop. I welcome your feedback as we artists tend to live isolated lives, spending long hours alone in our studios, listening to music and too much talk radio. Perhaps that's why I belong to so many groups. Mine include the Westside scbwi illustrators schmooze which meets once a month on Monday evening and is open to all members and Barbara Bottner's amazing childrens book writing class in downtown LA. I am also part of a private Children's illustators group that has some very talented members. I will post links to their websites soon on my blog.
